Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you teach?

Voice lessons are available for students ages 10 and up. Students under 18 must have a parent or guardian responsible for enrollment and communication.

How long are lessons?

Lessons are typically 30–60 minutes, depending on the student’s age, experience level, and goals. Lesson length will be discussed during enrollment.

Where do lessons take place?

All lessons are held online using Zoom or another video platform. Students should have a reliable internet connection, a device with camera and microphone, and a quiet place where they can sing comfortably.

What should I bring to my lesson?

Students should log in on time and be ready with any assigned music, a pencil, water, and their device set up for singing and conversation.

What if I need to cancel a lesson?

Please give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged. When adequate notice is given, a make-up lesson may be offered depending on availability.

What happens if I’m late?

Lessons end at the scheduled time even if a student arrives late, so it’s best to log in a few minutes early.

How do payments work?

Lessons can be purchased either individually or in lesson packs. Current lesson rates and payment options will be shared before lessons begin. Payments must be completed before the lesson or pack begins.

How much should I practice between lessons?

Regular practice is one of the most important parts of improving as a singer. Practice expectations vary by age, level, and goals, but most students benefit from 15–30 minutes of focused practice several times per week. During lessons, students will receive specific exercises and strategies to guide their practice.

Can lessons be recorded?

Sometimes lessons are recorded so students can review exercises and feedback later. These recordings are for personal educational use only and should not be shared publicly.

What kind of music can I sing?

Students are encouraged to explore music they enjoy! Lessons can include a wide range of styles depending on the student’s goals.

Do I need prior experience?

Not at all. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level, whether you are brand new to singing or already experienced.

Will voice lessons improve my singing quickly?

Every student progresses differently. Consistent practice, healthy vocal habits, and regular lessons will help support steady improvement over time.

What if my voice hurts when I sing?

Singing should not be painful. If you experience pain or unusual strain, stop singing and let the instructor know. Persistent vocal concerns should be evaluated by a qualified medical professional.
